Here is what I'm talking about on the Silverados. Funny thing is that there are complains on the hot exhaust bothering rear occupants. So maybe use this design but angle the exhaust side where it does not blow on folks in the back.

Older GM BLOWER has a larger inlet and a piped exhaust towards the bottom of the seat.

Image is upside down.

The vent in the back is interesting but the crazy thing is how much heat these TEDs put off. I bet guys would be able to darn near use it as a hand warmer!

Trouble is for FORD to put vents in like that I bet it would be all new leather and the chances of that getting approved has to be close to ZERO!

Default Tag all the bases....

I am dutifully taking mine into local dealer on Thurs to "document" the problem on my 2015.....I am SURE they will fix it while they have it.....not!

Sent links to this, mustang and focus forums detailing their issues with seat back cooling...to both Service Writer at dealer and Leroy, the RCSM....sent Leroy a note Friday asking him to respond......crickets.....

On the way home Saturday turned on the cooler for the seats and the heater came on. Im not a fan of the new F150 heat/cool seats. My F250 Kind Ranch seats were 100% better than my F150.

OK everyone here is my last update for a bit. I installed my driverseat modification in about 10 minutes. I had not done anything with the driver side before this point so that time is from stock to modified.

I have 4 guys who have contacted me to test this out and verify that it is working for them as well. I felt this was an important step to make sure that it was actually working well. I am printing their parts now and will ship them out tomorrow or the next day. They will be getting enough parts to do both seats (parts are the same for both). Although I would love to send out more parts this is honestly my limit for now. These guys are committed to taking measurements and pictures so I am not the only source of information.

Based on the design and what I can change with my design I do not honestly expect to be able to get the back to cool as much as the bottom. There are too many troublesome things with the design to overcome to make it be as cool as the bottoms.

I do know that my modification successfully has lowered the temperature that the leather sees above the magazine pocket (see previous post with temp gun pictures). With this said I think that is the biggest need for improvement so that we do not scorch our leather!

I will be documenting the temps as I use it now for a bit. Feel free to hit me up with questions!!!

Oh and @FORDSERVICE.. might not be a bad idea to chime in with an update from FORD. Just to let you know I rocked out a solution in under a weekend and have parts already in testing. Just saying..

It was 92F outside today. Kicked on the cooled seats and entered rush hour traffic. Upper seat back got so hot I feel like the skin on my back got burned. Still hurts this evening. I was so focused on traffic that I didn't realize how hot it was getting until it was too late. Then, the seat stayed hot for the next 20 miles even after it was switched off.

The purchase I was so happy about last week is now a regret. I was going to get an XLT with cloth seats, but went with leather only because it had cooled seats.

I don't think Ford is ever going to fix this.

I appreciate everyone's work on this. I'm not even using my seat coolers till this issue is fixed. I can live without them but it is a nice feature to have. Not being able to use them is kind of a waste of money and hopefully Ford will make this right. If not sometime out there with the capability to mass produce a fix that works is going to make some nice coin.

Bought mine Saturday, can confirm seat bottoms sorta cool, nothing on the back and I dont want to run them to the point they get super hot. I will mention it to my dealer and see what they say but I dont have high hopes. I love the truck and have hopes ford can get this fixed at some point even if it takes a while.

I asked this before, just thought it may help get some traction from the Ford side.

Has anyone asked the CEO on twitter about this? I know when they were having issues with the armrest in the back, a few guys did this, and he responded and there was a TSB within a week or 2.

I would do this, but I'm not on twitter! Just a though to try to get there attention, as it doesn't seem to be helping here.
