I would imagine there is not a fix out yet. The person that finally gave me some information said that the first batch of snorkels is going to be shipped out Aug 24-25. Then another batch will be shipped out on Sep 4.

Who knows who is getting the first shipment.

I discussed with my local service guy yesterday that I doubt the snorkel only will work. I based most of argument off of Tim's work. But basic logic would stand to reason that if you are trying to cool something it would be beneficial to get the heat farther away from the object you want cooled. I would not think that setting my ice chest next to the fire place would help keep things cooler in the ice chest.

He agrees...I asked him to voice that concern back through the hotline. Who knows if that was done or not.

Ok guys I am sick of not just sharing what I have done to make mine work. Oh and enjoy the picture it is staying up this time and copy away if anyone want to try. Here is a hint the intake tube needs to be bigger than the exhaust (doesn't seem right in your head? read below)

Here are my thoughts.

Intake snorkel brings in fresh air
A SINGLE blower pushes air through the TED
The air is split between two air channels which both have heat sinks
If there is restriction on either side the other side will flow more
So when the seat can not properly exhaust it restricts the flow past the system and it will not be efficient.

Heated or Cooled both use the same theory only the heat sinks switch jobs. So why do the heated seats work better than cooled? It is easier to make heat with electronics than cool.

Oh and why the quotes around engineered??

Correct I designed the red and blue parts then 3D printed them on my printer. They are designed to use existing screw holes in the TED as to not disturb the original factory unit.

I would have printed an entire tube but I am limited on size of the printer so I went to smurf tube as it remains fairly rigid and it is easy to bend into shape.

nothing derogatory meant by it.

I work in O&G engineering and am a designer, so engineering is doing calcs and so forth vs this looks like the right size, lets throw it on there = engineered.

cool you have 3d printer.

I bet you could sell those and make a penny.

Tim amazing what it takes to get the performance out of such a poorly engineered solution. You're essentially turbo-charging the air movement by helping it breathe. (I/O)

I figured I should give you some trouble for it LOL!

Ya I have had people after me to pay for parts. I have been waiting to see how the Fix from Ford works because they can handle the mass production better than I can!

Default It's sad that consumers need to engineer a fix!!

Tim thanks for all your hours and efforts. But really, it's sad that the consumer/F150 owner, needs to engineer a fix to a Factory designed & engineered system in a soon to be $70k truck (Limited)!!

What's wrong with THAT picture? (No, nothing wrong with Tims photo)

I'm in if you decide to sell these. Looks factory to me.

Does anyone know if a Lariat without massaging seats are the same as those with-regarding the coolers?
