Default Cooling Seats - Are Your Seat Backs Working Properly?

I've been testing and working with TimWakefield on his parts. I'm happy to say that he has solved the exhaust heat buildup with his exhaust snorkel design. I have his setup on my drivers side and stock on passenger. Back of seat is 85 all around on driver and 115 on passenger right above the magazine pocket. Still working on the cold air efficiency though. It seems to work well if you start with a low ambient like in the morning after in garage all night. However the intakes lack of cabin air doesn't allow it to cool if the truck has been sitting in the sun for a while. Found some openings in the bottom of the seat flap where the air tubes exit for the massager feature and will be working with Tim to try a new intake design soon. Also the airflow of the accordion output tube is very restricted. So that is also part of the problem. Especially those with the multi contour seats.

I knew my seat backs were not cooling, but is was yesterday that I noticed that the lumbar quickly gets disproportionately hot in contrast to the sides of the seats while I am assuming the exhaust builds up. This may be an issue that can get some traction with consumer affairs due to the inherent safety implications of a malfunctioning seat cooler that actually heats the seats. Instead of reinventing the wheel, look at the ram seats. My 2013 ram seat coolers worked awesome! I would be curious to see a contrast of the 2-designs

Just received my 2015 Lariat F150 custom order last week and I have no cooling air coming from the seat backs. I have also noticed the dash vents can't hold their position when the fan is on high, the air blows them closed. Needless to say I am less than happy with these problems on a $45k+ vehicle.

Default Yep still having issues with the 15's

So, due to needing more towing capacity I recently traded my 14' Raptor SuperCrew in for a 15' King Ranch. The new truck is just as awesome as my Raptor but the new truck has not only climate controlled seats, but also massaging seats. However, after a short trip this past weekend I found that the climate control did not work on the seats at all. My dealership looked it over today and confirmed that it was not working but then after two service reps could not find the problem they decided that since the truck has the massaging feature that the climate control must be disabled and will not work! I accepted this answer for a while and then decided that this is surely not the case or why else would the sales sheets say "climate controlled massaging seats"; not "climate controlled OR massaging seats"? Well I called the Ford support phone number and after much deliberation the representative told me that I should go to another dealership!!!! What??? Seriously????

I can't believe they would tell you to go to another dealer. What a crock of Sh$%. Why can't the big bad Ford Mo Co tell the dealer to fit the frigging issue or at least tell you there is a fix on the way and we will contact you when ready...

Come on Ford get with the program. You are becoming the big L in my book hearing these stories.

I am getting really disgusted with the lack of Ford stepping up and owning the mistake. I don't care if you don't know the fix yet. Just admit there is a problem and dedicate some staff to fixing it. Ford does that and I will be happy... For now.

I thought we had established they have done just that - there was a post earlier where someone said their sales manager had talked to an engineer that had acknowledged the problem and said there was development on a fix.

You totally missed his point. Nowhere has Ford sent out a mass email/bulletin/TSB/heads up to owners or service depts....in other words, they're being pushed into doing something, and not communicating with their owner base!

I have sent a few more emails to my Great Lakes CSM, but have gotten crickets....the silence is deafening.

Yea but then we keep hearing these stories. You might need to go see another dealer to get that fixed or the dealer playing dumb...

I can't wait to take my in and show them that pic that got removed from here and some other posts on the seat issue. What is ford gonna do to me... Force me to go buy somewhere else. No Problem there.

What happen to the customer is always right. I don't see my dealer treating me this way but i'm ready for a fight if needed. I have lots of time and resources to just mess with them. I know it's not the dealers fault but they sold me this thing. LOL

I also have not filled out that survey that the dealer acts like is the biggest deal in the world. Gonna wait on this seat thing for that.

They still keep sending me emails to fill this out and that out.

Don't get me wrong I love the truck. Don't have any issues with it other that the seat thing. They fix it and I will be on my merry way and hopefully will never be at the dealer again.

When I bought the 2014 F150 EB XLT... Not once did I have to bring it to the dealer for anything while I owned it.

Default 2015 f150 lariat seat problems

Have the same with my 2015 F150 Lariat. Seems like the fan on the back of the seat is overheating and creating the back seat to heat up past 120 F. I expected better from Ford to test this crap out before hand.....
