Whew... I just finished reading all 533 pages...

Hard to believe after 3 years, that Ford never actually fixed the problem from their end - even though they had full knowledge of the problem, and solution.

Yea... This reminds me of the fight I had with Ford, over the fog lights on my 05 Mustang being Foggy. Seems for made millions of them the same way, and simply refused to fix them. Here is the bottom line... Nobody is going to get hurt if Ford doesn't fix the seat, and with the Millions of trucks out there, it will cost Ford Millions of dollars to fix the seats right. With no injuries, there will be no law suites, so Ford just saved a few million dollars by half-*** fixing the problem for the loudest complainers.

Now.. if a bunch of them started fires.. Ford would probably be fixing them.

But in the end, Fords true fix, is to eliminate them all together!

Seems to me, the buyers of 18's are getting a little ripped off.. They are paying more for their trucks then we did, but getting less in them (Single Color Lights, vs Multi color - - cooled seats vs vented.. and I am sure there are other shortcuts.)

So.. back to the subject... Are the Seat Cooling Fix Units still available?

I purchased my 2016 Lariat about a month ago. When turning on the A/C for the front seats, the fan kicks on and then drops in speed on the high setting. You are still able to reduce the speed even more (high, med, low) but even on the high setting, it is not that noticeable unless you been sitting in the seat for a while. My wife and I stopped back up at the dealership a week later and checked this feature out on a 2017 Lariat in lot. When turning on the A/C for the seat, the fan turned on and remained in the high setting until you adjusted the speed via the control. The difference was noticeable right way.

The service adviser just called and said that the tech found nothing wrong with the fans or the system. So is there a difference in the between the 2016 and 2017 A/C seats?

On the Forscan thread a while back it was talked about there being settings that might be changed/played with to set some of the temperatures on the seats.. But I never heard of anyone actually trying to play with it.. Ford might of made a change on the 2017’s.. To be honest I don’t hear the fans running on my 2015 but with the kit it does work..

I dont get it...I have a 2013 - A/C seats work great! And have for almost 6 years. If it works, don't fix it...not sure wtf Ford did to screw this up.

I keep meaning to go out with my Multimeter and check the voltage of high medium and low and trying to figure out the forscan settings. I talked with a few people on the forscan thread and your right no one had done to much..

Maybe ill do that tonight or sometime this week.

Me.

It didn't work.

The data wouldn't even set. It seems to be hardcoded and that's that. Good luck to anyone else who wants to mess about with it. I certainly made no progress.

I had a 2002 with captain chairs they were not cooled or heated but boy were they nice and comfortable.. Every time I sit down in my hard as bricks 2015 seats I miss my 2002..

Its sad that the newer trucks cooling is so much worse than a 2013..I wish ford woulda just kept that model. Even with tims kit at times the cooling is not that great but thats not anything to do with the kit and more to do with the cooling setup. Maybe someone can figure a way out to route the cooling to the AC lol

My 2015 does the same.... fans are louder for a few seconds upon startup but then quiets/slows down even on high. Same behavior... heat/cool/both seats

Opened my seat tonight and looked at the fan wiring. There are three wires that go to the fan red black and white. The black is ground obviously. The red holds a constant 12 volts no matter what the cool or heat settings are. And the white fluctuates.
on heat the white wire holds a constant 5 volt no matter the setting.
White wire on cool settings
TED start up : 10.8v
TED high :7.5v-8v
TED med: 6.8v-7.2v
TED low: 5.0v-5.3v
Going to do some more probing around on the Wires going to the TED when I have a hand for somebody to push the buttons while I'm probing the wires

That being said. I did try changing the forscan settings for the cooling high fan voltage. No matter what I change the hex to it had the same output I ended up flashing it back to stock settings
