How do Tim's parts work? If they were ok, I would be happy. I would rather do it myself than see what others are going thru regarding not getting the correct parts in stock (making multiple trips to get work done) and then having the seats ripped/torn from the install.

Sorry this has been a cluster#### for most with nearly half of the people saying neglible improvement after the TSB from what I am reading.

I have called two local dealers and they said they have never heard of the TSB and have never had anyone complain that their seat backs did not cool.

My dealer seems to be on top of things ... immediately knew what was up and ordered the parts to fix it

Tim's parts work great and I'm content with the ford fix for now.

Ok, I just picked up the truck from the dealer and drove it 30 minutes with the cooled seats on high. Can definitely notice a difference, not wonderful but a little better than I expected after reading the follow-ups on here. I can honestly say that if the truck came this way (seats post-TSB) that I would never even question them as they are adequate now. The backs of the seats do get warm as stated but nowhere near as hot as before (passenger side seems slightly warmer).

Side note, had to pull over on the way home and reinstall the 93 perf tune as I guess I was spoiled and driving it on stock tune is just depressing after driving it tuned for a few months.

well i havenot experienced the dealer fix, but i have seen how uninformed they are..i did not want some guy to use me as the guinea pig....i am satisfied with tims fix, although my entire setup still does not work as advertized....i am going t5o stick with tim untill i hear from others that leaving my truck at the dealer for a week will produce results....

Asked him to order the second one and I will wait to bring it in.

Fast forward to last friday and I get a call stating both my parts are in and that they want me to bring it by Monday to have their lead technician install them. I drop the truck off at 830a (no loaner) and get picked up by a co-worker, not 2hrs go by and I get a call from the advisor to inform me the parts they ordered were the old parts not the revised B series. The advisor then tells me the parts are on backorder (no S**T pal) and I would have to wait and they will call when they come in.

I asked him if he or the service manager were incompetent or if it was the lead tech that ordered the parts. He informed me the tech noticed the parts didnt match the TSB before he started the process, so I have hope that guy knows how to do something and will install properly once the correct parts arrive.

Been a fun process thus far, can't wait to get my survey from them they auto generate after every service call.

Hey gang,

If you're experiencing a part delay or would like some help on this end with those seats, shoot me a PM with your full name, best contact number, VIN, current mileage, and dealership information. I'll enlist the aid of your regional customer service managers.

Right after the TSB was issued, i contacted my dealer via phone. He was aware of the TSB and ordered parts and said he would call when they arrived. Parts arrived about 2 weeks ago, but dealer said they are swamped with repairs and the soonest they could schedule me was today, Oct. 6. That was fine. I take truck in this morning and leave it. They call me at 1pm and said they are not going to be able to get to my truck today. A little pi$$ed at this point. Dealer reserves me a loaner and i go to pick up the loaner this afternoon. I tell them I need to get a few things out of my truck, as i didn't expect to be leaving it overnight. Dealer informs me they have sent my truck to a local trim shop to have the 'fix' performed, since they are so overwhelmed with work. This trim shop has been in business for a long time and reportedly do very good work. Hopefully, they can perform the mod without butchering up the seat back like some of you have experienced with your dealers. I was just kind of surprised that dealer would contract out warranty work.

incredible! Sounds like they screwed something up and are trying to get it repaired? We had an Expedition that needed a seat replaced, they sent it out. Sometimes its cheaper for them than in house.

Good luck!

Had TSB performed last week....seats are better not great, although improvement. Dealership was clueless and there attention to detail was not good. Had to have them properly zip seat cover in place. I am amazed that the service department has so little knowledge of on-going issues.....or maybe they just pretend to be irritated by customers
