I'm not interested in gas. I'm definitely not interested in 4:30 gears. The diesel is what I am going to get. Nothing like an effortless tow. I'm just trying to work the best deal now. Nice thing is time is on my side, first trip is scheduled for Memorial day and RV retailer said he keep my TT onsite until I got the new truck. Nothing better than being in grinder mode with time to spare!

Thanks

No doubt a 6.7 is impressive. I want a gas, though, because I plan to run it well beyond the warranty and am not comfortable with potential out of warranty diesel repairs.

We have towed 7 different TT with my 460 and its 3 gears and never felt underpowered. I am sure I will be pleased with a 6.2, 6 gears, and 4:30 diffs....I won't consider 3:73's.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked. The torque of the PSD is just off the hook. It literally throws you back. Kids were laughing there ***** off.

Not a bad choice. I looked at those too but they are pretty dang big, and I'm leery of the maintenance and repair costs. Course, get an extended warranty and that's not an issue. It sure will be a towing monster, and will handle everything you throw at it. For me it just came down to the Lariat HDPP having what I needed and wanted, and I felt it would be a superior DD. I also enjoyed custom ordering it.

What kind of MPG hit does the 3.73 rear end cause with the HDPP on your Larait? I will towing a TT with a much lower weight but the HDPP would take any guess work out of the equation.

Just for interest I just looked at a base Screw Lariat short box. It had a payload of 1804 pounds this was a Canadian spec. truck.

No hit at all from my Gen 1 Eco with 3.55s. With that I got 8-10 towing, and averaged about 15.5 in DD. With the 2018 HDPP Gen 2 Eco and 3.73s, I get 8-10 towing, and average about 16, and I can get up to 19 or so highway cruising.
