Come to Canada!!! 2016 Platinum F150 for $42k
If you aren't coming to Canada to get away from Donald Trump, then maybe you can consider coming here to buy an F150!
I recently went to the dealer up here in Canada and was able to walk out with a 2016 Platinum (base model, no sunroof or adaptive cruise) for just under $55,000 CDN before taxes. The MSRP was around $71,000 CDN but I got around $16,000 off in total discounts. Converted to American dollars, that is $41,900 USD approximately.
Now the reason I bring this up is because years ago when the CDN dollar was at par with the USD, us northern folk would come down to the great land of USA to buy our new vehicles! I went to a Ford dealership in 2011 in the US and bought my F150 and got a great deal. We gave your economy a huge boost and got some great deals along the way
Now the tables have turned!!! Come to Canada and give our dealers some business and help us fund our overpriced free health care for ALL!!! lol
Regarding importing it, I have never gone from CANADA>USA (obviously) but I know others who have and they said it was easy. Obviously the process has to be easy because lots of people move from USA to Canada every day and bring their vehicles.
Edit: For anyone interested, just check out http://inventoryfoc.ford.ca/ and you can search any dealers in Canada (near you across the border). This site shows the adjusted price for vehicles and if you click on the little "?" beside the price you can see the breakdown. Take another $1000 off this price if you have Costco. Convert this to USD and see if it is worth it for you to come up here and buy a vehicle!

I paid $48K before tax for a 16' XLT Sport Screw 302a w/extras back in March. Haven't kept up with current prices sense then, the thought that for an extra $7K or so I could now get a Platinum? Gotta check on that.
Might be a great idea to cross the border for some but not sure if it would be for most. With possible warranty issues, travel expenses, timing and if you have anything that pops up on the Border Patrol computers....you're out of luck.

I know it's hard to believe but it's the truth! Here's the breakdown of pricing:
This is the price you should be able to get at ANY Ford dealer (if you have Costco).
BUT, there's extra wiggle room on this price (even if dealers deny it) and I negotiated with my dealer to give me another discount that brought the total price to just under $55k before taxes. This is canadian dollars. Even without that extra discount, $56,314 is a great price.
Check out the Ford inventory site at http://inventoryfoc.ford.ca/ and the above prices will match. Just keep in mind Platinum prices can get very expensive if you want the add-ons (Sunroof, Adaptive Cruise, 360 camera) but I didn't care about those.
FYI, the prices on Lariats are also really good. I could have potentially gotten a lariat with good options for under 50k.
Code:
$70,599 = MSRP ($68,899 + $100 AC + $1700 Destination) -$4,750 = Delivery Allowance -$8,535 = Ford Employee Pricing -$1,000 = Costco Discount $56,314 = Price after the above 3 discounts.

To be fair, a Lariat 502a at 53k isn't a bad deal. The base platinum is VERY similar to the 502a.
The platinum will have, from what I understand:
- Premium leather seats w/ Massage function
- Rear heated seats
- Premium interior w/ real wood
- 20" premium wheels/tires
- Front matching colour bumper
- Power running boards (but these can be added to the lariat)
- The "PLATINUM" badging/tailgate
- Better trade in value down the road
But that being said, I strongly considered a Lariat before I pulled the plug on the Platinum. Both are good choices. Keep in mind my price has the $1000 Costco included plus extra haggle room. The difference in price is probably 4-5k.

The only thought I have is... I wonder if they are worried people are going to wait for the 3.5L / 10 speed? Me personally I didn't care.
