Thank you guys so much. This 3 min fix was so easy.

Wasnt so fun doing it outside in 9 degree weather. Still better than the dealer.

Is it worth having this replaced by the dealer when I go in for the two recalls? I have SEAT TRACK PIVOT LINK BOLT INSPECTION AND REPAIR and DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE OR OPEN WHILE DRIVING

You think it's scary for you. It's probably twice as scary for me if I'm out there meeting you.

I'm on my third winter with having replaced mine with a piece of brass tubing... No problems yet,, and safer than letting my dealer have my truck to replace it.

My '16 did the same thing. There is a TSB for this condition. If your truck is still under warranty take it to the dealer and will be fixed N/C.

Use to have one of these from Saab... no 12v required, just a warm engine and it worked great.

I used better fluid..when i did use the dealer fluid that was in the reservoir it froze...so you can't tell me that whatever they use doesn't freeze. Now I bought my truck in Nashville and I live in PA, perhaps they used a differently rated fluid, but I drained it and now it works.

The biggest factor here is the fluid used. If you have a 2015 or 2016 and haven't had the TSB done you need to. If you have had it freeze after the TSB was performed you need to flush the system and put quality fluid in it.

The second thing is never let the dealer or any quick lube place top it off. Only top it off with the quality -20 Deg F or lower fluid that you have purchased. Even if you need some in the summer do not make the mistake of buying summer grade washer fluid. I don't even know why they sell it in northern states.

-10 deg F this morning and my washers worked just find. I run no special additives, just quality fluid and never anything else.

Thank you Todd (and everyone else here)!
I'm writing this after my fingers thawed out! I came home after another frustrating commute of not being able to depend on my windshield washer and researched this.
I'm not really a Truck/Car guy (especially with all the new technology), but not hopeless either.
So with Todd's awesome pictures and explanation, I just performed his process in a 25 degree wind-driven freezing rain on the Massachusetts coast and it worked like a charm!
I was not looking forward to another trip again tomorrow (about 200 miles round trip) in winter conditions but now I'll sleep like a baby.
So take it from me, don't be afraid to tackle this repair, it's exactly what Todd showed (I did have to undo the third Cowl Retainer Clip to lift it up enough to access the Hose because everything was so stiff).
Again, thank you Todd along with this whole community!

I drilled mine and am still having problems. its freezing at 30 degrees!!! Today, temp was 30 on the truck display. Right side would spray, left side I could see a like dribble but that's it. I know I had decent fluid in it. I have never had it in the shop for service. I sprayed it all out on the drive home and replaced it with prestone rated to negative 27. I'd that doesn't get it, I don't know what else to do.

You probably still have some summer fluid that froze. There is almost always some fluid left when you run out so the pump stays primed. When it get above freezing for a few hours and you drive around, what's left should mix and things thaw out.

You might have some debris in the line (dirt, plastic from drilling out the valve) which would also give you the same result. Things should work after a few hours above freezing.
