Default Clunking in there rear - trip to dealer this AM

2017 F150 just rolled 20k miles.

Last week I started hearing a clunk in the drivetrain when I'd put it in D and give some gas. Same for R and giving it some gas. This week it would do it when you let off the gas and go again when the slack caught up.

It had never done that before so I made an appointment this morning and brought it in.

Anyway they are replacing the drive shaft, under warranty. They said it would be after Xmas before it would come in and they'd call me to bring it in.

I'll keep y'all posted on it.

Keep us posted on the results. My truck does the same thing, slightly annoying. Come to a stop, but not quite a complete stop, and then touch the gas and it clunks with excess slack somewhere in drivetrain.

They changed the drive shaft, u joints and yoke. It still made the noise. They took it back and brought it out later and said it was a flange on the rear of the transmission.

The sound is gone now.

When I get the paperwork on the work I'll post it. They were still still running time on the job when I left. They said they'll mail it to me.

My truck is at the dealership having the exact same thing done. New drive shaft. They've had it for 6 days so far. Waiting on parts during the holidays sucks. But they have me in a rental so I don't mind. I had 473 miles left on my warranty when I took it in.

You're saying a $16 dollar part was the problem? We are talking about part#21 in this PDF no?

The shaft and u joints were changed. I can see the new shaft when I look. I was told it still made noise after the change and come to find out it was some flange on the rear of the tranny.
