I got in my truck (running) after getting the oil changed. The Sync3 was on the Climate Control screen. Fan settings, auto button ,etc.. I have an XLT, no climate control! I haven't been able to get it to happen again?!


Any ideas how this happened?

Actually this is a common issue with Sync 3 in the F150s

The fix is easy

2016 F150 – Equipped With SYNC 3 And Electronic Manual Temperature Control – Intermittent Display of Climate Control Features

Some 2016 F150 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) may experience a condition in which the climate control features are displayed on the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) randomly and usually after starting the vehicle. The vehicle is not equipped with this feature and this is not a normal characteristic of an EMTC system. To correct the condition, reprogram the Front Control Interface Module (FCIM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 102.01 or higher.

It didn't bother me and is the first time it has happened, I was just baffled.


Is the reprogram something that happens at the dealer?

I saw this happen once on my xlt. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get back to that screen. I was actually starting to think I made the whole thing up in my head and was just remembering a video I had seen online or something haha! Thanks for clearing this up.

I don't imagine I need to get this fixed unless it starts doing it all the time?
