Default Chrome Removal

Tried searching, but couldn't find a definitive answer. I bought an XLT with the chrome package, because I wanted the blue jean color, but I'm not a fan of chrome. Does anyone know if the stock chrome door handles are covers that can be taken off or are they built into the handle? Don't want to just start prying if they don't come off. Also, I've used plasti dip on my other vehicles and it's held up well. Has anyone here plasti dipped their chrome bumper?

Maybe I'm missing it, but seems like they only talk about wrapping and professionally painting the bumpers in that thread. I'm looking to find out if I can remove the chrome door handle (covers?) and plasti dip the bumpers.
