Default Chrime wheel finish coming off.....

Anyone have this issue? And before you ask, I only use my carwash and water to clean them....there havent been any blemishes on my wheels and I noticed this on 3 of the 4 today....

Yes. I had this issue on my 18” PVD. They sucked. I got rid of them.

That finish is pure CRAP!! Scratches if you look at it wrong........ Wish I had the aluminum wheel from my 2012.......... oh well..

There are several threads covering this issue if you search. It's hit & miss on warranty coverage from Ford....if you're persistent, your odds go up.

The PVD coating process is very good when done correctly, way better than the old plating processes. Most of these types of peeling issues can be traced to a problem in the wheel prep stage prior to coating, either contamination or something of the sort.

My 20" PVD's still look like new, 40K miles & two salty Ohio winters, and I rarely wash my truck.

I had my PVD rims all replaced under warranty about a month and half after I bought my truck. All had blemishes on them, tech took pics and sent to Fords for approval, new rims were in about a week later. No issues since in about a year and no blemishes.
