Question Chimes and double honk

I have a 2017 F150 LTD that I bought in November 2017. Lately, the door chime comes on every time I open the driver's door. It doesn't matter if the keys are in the ignition or not. I went through the manual to see what causes the chime and none of them apply. To add to the mystery, if I use the door lock button to lock the doors before I get out, I get the double honk even if the key isn't in the ignition. I haven't done any modifications to the truck. It wasn't at the dealer recently. I'm at a loss. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on?

Maybe low battery? I had a similar issue and I disconnected battery for 3 minutes and it went away. I also put a trickle charger on it.

Do you normally use Auto Headlights On? Did you accidentally re-position the switch to On. I did this once and got the chime when I exited to let me know something was left on. Took me a while to figure out what happened, but I rotated the switch back to Auto and the chime went away.

I can't remember if I got the double honk or not. I eliminated the double honk (when exiting the vehicle with the engine running) using FORScan and that might also kill the double honk in that situation as well.

Double honk should only be occurring when vehicle is running and the fob leaves the vehicle or if you hit the fob lock button twice in a row. Sounds like a fob battery issue or a possible control module problem to me i.e vehicle thinks it is still running and key leaves vehicle or key may be losing signal due to low battery. You probably have already done this but change the battery or try using your other fob to try and recreate or see if it goes away.

Have never had a double honk problem but have had the key not present problem a few times if the fob is in same pocket as phone or typically at a restaurant if I park near a sign that interferes with the vehicle/fob signal. I disabled the double honk, you could also try that but it will just mask the problem.

I had the same problem a while back and my auto headlight were switched to the running light mode. It was doing the exact same behavior.

This happens to me a lot. First, the **** can be easily rotated by an infant, so it doesn't take much for my knee to graze it and shift it one position over, which turns on the chimes. I realize I could simply move the seat backwards, but I like sitting up as though I'm at a table and being 6'3" can put legs and knees in just the perfect place to actuate the ****.

Thanks to Forscan, I got rid of all the chimes I could. I think the only one I have now is if I open the door while the truck is out of park.
