33 gallons (not empty) x $.04 is $1.32. If it wasn't out of the way, that's just money thrown away.

If you drive 15,000 miles a year, and you get 18 mpg, that's 833 gallons. That's $33+ a year.

Maybe not much, but it's usually much more than $.04 difference. Costco is often much cheaper. It's an incremental 7.9 miles roundtrip for me to go to Costco on our normal grocery run (if I take the truck). I always use Gasbuddy to check prices, and do the math on the discount to see which makes more sense.

$1.77 per gallon in Arkansas on December 4th. Also saw 100% gas - no corn - for $2.01 the same day.

It's crazy the lines at my local Walmart/sams for 1.95 gas. I'd rather pay an extra .06 cents a gallon and not have someone run into me. Plus my time waiting in line to buy gas is not worth it.
