Default Charge 2017 F150 through 12v outlet ?

Is it ok to trickle charge a 2017 F150 Lariat using the 12v plug adaptor? My truck is so tight in the garage I cannot open the hood to charge. Thank you for thoughts and help!

Won't really work. The powerpoints are controlled by non-serviceable relays in th BJB and timeout after turning off the ignition. Once they timeout, they are no longer connected to the battery so it won't charge.

There is a way, using FORScan, to turn the powerpoints on all the time if you really want to do this.

I permanently installed the o rings on my positive and chassis ground. Got an extension and ran it to the drivers side front wheel well.

When I charge, I don’t have to open the hook. Just plug it in to the plug in the wheel well.

I have a CTEK 4.5a maintainer and got their 6’ extension.

Not trying to be a d**k, but have you considered backing into the garage? Gives more space to open the hood.

Run your battery charger port out the grill so you won't have to pop the hood mang. Also, what that one guy said about backing in.

I discovered when I hid the plug in the grill it’s easy to forget to unplug BEFORE leaving..... don’t ask how I know!

Get one of these to attach to the battery permanently and run it out the fender well or grill.

This. They are so low-profile you can conceal the plug easily. I have my Battery Tender mounted on the ceiling so I can see it and avoid the VERY easy-to-do situation that cthusker describes!
