A chance to remember and say thanks
To all who have served and died protecting these United States over the last two and half centuries.
I was thinking back to when I was a boy my dad, who served during Korea, would take us with him on Memorial Day ceremonies. The American Legion would have a bus for all the vets and kids tagging along and tour cemeteries in the area where they would do a color guard. It was pretty impressive and at times emotional watching my dad and the other vets in their American Legion uniforms march up to the flag stand, present arms and give a Three Volley Salute. We kids would run out and collect the brass after. It was a big deal for us because we could get our fill of birch beer and Coke before and during the bus ride then lots of hot dogs and potato chips after. I just can't help but think something has been lost or forgotten along the way. |
No doubt about that.
Thanks to all that served and were lost. |
Our Flag Colors don't run and what it stands for and what our Armed Forces have done for us and sacrificed there lives for our Freedom
|
Well stated above & I echo them. Thank you, US Military!
|
Well said! Thank you for your service everyone!

Raise a glass to those who gave all.

All gave some, some gave all.
