Can't charge phone unless engine is running???
The engine has to be running for my phone to charge using the 110volt? It's already bad enough that the other accessories turn off after 15 minutes. This gets more and more ridiculous on a weekly basis with these trucks

next post from this guy: "why is my battery dead after I charge my phone? this gets more and more ridiculous"

Well every other vehicle I have owned as had at least one outlet (12VDC) that is constant on. Most vehicles have that constant on protected now so it can't drain the battery down so far that the vehicle wont start.

Now it's a different question why one of the 12V outlets isn't always hot, like my old 2003 Silverado.

I've been over this before with you people about your dead battery logic, it's stupid.
They shouldn't put restrictions on features because 1 outta 900 ppl MIGHT forget to unplug it and end up with a dead battery.
Not to mention, did you miss the part about all the accessories turning OFF after 15 minutes?
So why can't I use my 110 volt for that 15 minutes?
Just looking for a reason to complain? More like - you fanboys just looking for any excuse to backup Ford no matter what.

The amount of juice that it takes to power the inverter for the wattage it puts out would not get you 15 minutes of usage...

use the 12 Volt to charge your phone... that will give you the 15 minutes your looking for... using the 110 to charge your phone seems a bit excessive anyway...

I use the USB to charge my phone. Works great and also for the standard 10-15 shut off time. I do agree that when you use the 12v outlet it does shut off automatically when battery/starting becomes threatened. Smart truck. Stupid people. You can fix one can you guess which one.
