[QUOTE]So I called the dealer and changed my order to another 2017 F150. Exact same model, color, and options, but has the rear electronic locking differential. I would have bought this one originally as the $470 extra for the locking diff is probably worth it for me, but this model was built 7-19-17/QUOTE]

But when it came down to the long term ownership clearing of 200k miles, I had to go with the 5.0 for all practical purposes..
It's not if, it's when the turbos start popping, tossing hot side wheel bits (damaged cat's, lean conditions), leaking seals, of course intercooler sludge and the direct injection issues on the backside of the valves for the 3.5. (Very hard to clean Carbon buildup soaking up fuel and running lean as a result... in a nutshell)
I'm also hearing the carbon buildup repair includes changing the heads!, and a timing rebuild.. If the turbo(s) pop, your right at the price for a whipple kit alone.
With the 5.0 I can order up a whipple kit and be boosted after a 5-8 hour install time in my garage. On one of Fords toughest bottom ends to date! Plus, I honestly love my superchargers a wee bit more than turbos when it comes to trucks.
Not knocking the EB's, I just couldn't actually desire owning one LONG TERM without practical logic steering me away..
I also read of the 5.0 being the better payload engine, even if it's only rated higher by about 10 lbs.. Most of us actually use payload capacity far more than pulling power..

You quoted every thing from the OP's post except for the sentence that says how and when he ordered another 17.

2017's stopped being produced on August 13th.

I find it funny how all is well on the assembly line, and then they change something that requires a TSB later on... My build date was February 2015 and the only TSB was for an oil ring seal on a sensor that caused a small drip. 75k later and still no issues.

August 13th is after 9-1-2016... Maybe I'm being dense but I don't get what your point is.
We are talking a 2017...ordered and built in 2016.
And yes they stopped production August 13th of 2017 to change over to the 18 tooling....

Both trucks were dealer stock on the lot. I told them by phone I would take the one truck built on 9-1-16 and would come in the next day to do the paperwork. Before I went in, I read the TSB and told them I'd take the other one.

OP is saying he is 'ordering' trucks when what he actually means is that he is buying trucks off the lot. Ordering a truck of course means having Ford build one for you. He is just using the incorrect term, not a biggie though.
