Hey guys, I have a friend buying the 5 star tuner and I was wondering if it's possible I can load the tune on my truck using it, or do you need to always have the tuner hooked up to the truck st all times?

Tuner has to be married to a specific truck I believe. I don't think you can "pass it around".

no you can’t borrow the tuner. Once it’s used on one truck it’s locked to his vin. Until he puts the stock tune back on the truck.

depends on the tuning device .. i believe the hp tuners mpvi2 can be used on various trucks but you will need credits per truck ..

I had the same programmer/tuner for both a mustang and f150. Must be put back to stock and you lose a "marry" every time switched. So if your buddy wanted to use up a "marry" it can be done. That is if you have the canned tunes, will not work on custom tunes.
