Can I add keyless entry/start to 2017 XLT?

Add proximity access
If the guy wants to add this feature, good for him. Who cares what you think about it? I certainly don't.
Whenever I read useless rude commentary like this one below it makes me cringe. the fact that nobody on here calls out rude unhelpful comments like this makes me wonder if anyone on here has a backbone to speak of. Even though this one little crappy comment isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, it devalues other members' wants and needs from this group. My point is, if you don't have a meaningful contribution to someones question or post, then keep your negative fingers off of the keyboard.
As for the original question, I've looked over Tasca and other Ford parts sites and created a parts list needed to add proximity keys and push button start. It's not too expensive, but may sway some away. The biggest issue is finding the new wiring harnesses needed for the front doors, and the most likely scenario that a new wiring harness may be needed for the dashboard also to make this work. Without the door harnesses included, so far the costs look to be around $750

My wife's two previous cars had/have push button start and it is nice to just walk up to the door, push a button on the handle (since you have to touch it anyways), hop in and go. Also helpful when your arms are full of stuff and your trying to get in the vehicle especially when raining outside, etc. For those who say they don't want one usually are ones that have not experienced having one for a considerable time. Long story short, I wish my truck had it but I'm not going to go out of my way to install it or trade up to a Lariat either.

I LOVE the idea of adding options the truck didn’t come with. I’ve done a bunch of that already and have made my own harnessss to accomplish this.
I am surprised none of the other tinkerers have chimed in on this. I’ll have to alert them of this lol

This statement was long overdue and I wish I’d have spoke up myself. Seems that every thread has a “read the manual” or “do a search” comment in it. If you can’t contribute with a constructive comment then there is no need to contribute at all. A-holes.....
As far as adding push to start, seems it would be more trouble and expense then its worth. If someone were able to prove that otherwise with a parts list and instructions I’m sure more than the OP would be interested. I’d like to have it but then I do often lock my keys in the truck while running into stores and such. Love the touch pad.

I've been driving one for 8 years and just bought an XLT without it and I miss it every time I have to unlock or start the car! As others said, many times you have things in your hand, other things in your pocket the key drags out when you pull it out. It's just incredibly convenient to put the key fob in your pocket when you leave the house in the morning then no matter how many times you get in and out of the car you never have to take the key out of your pocket.
Even better for women, they never have to dig around in their purse for their keys!

Yes it can be done my 15 XLT is push button Start/ passive key entry. Need dealer willing to reprogram passive keys and many bit changes on the BCM module. All so wiring in the antennas to make it work. Cost for setup and parts. was around $375 minus the tailgate release that is also on the key fob.

Wow the controversy here, unbelievable how well but the accomplishment is grand and if you can do it save some money, It can be done on XLT if you want, I like it. Each their own on this one. But one thing for me I paid below xl price and have a platinum now.......

Wow! This thread went to crap quickly. It started bad, like I’ve seen others here, with negative comments instead of support or inquiry. Then it goes to crap with senior members being rude. I’ve seen many forums fall because of attitudes like this. Remember you are dealing with people. Would you talk with someone face to face the way you do here? Forums are supposed to be about support and comradery. When that is lost people stop posting and the forum dies.
Forums are are about interaction. Be nice and be helpful.
