Calling everyone who traded an 09-14 for a 15+

Traded in a 13 5.0 for a 15 5.0 liked the new body style. New 5.0 is a bit more peppy for sure tows better but the sway when towing the boat is noticeable. same trailer with old truck non issue. 5.0 runs great probably should have looked closer at the 3.5 eco just for the low end torque. Biggest change was engine was a lot more responsive and had more power

2013 is definitely not faster. Same hp and torque minus 700ibs. Must just be your gearing and or the 4x4. Drivetrain power loss is hiegher I believe

Let me start out..I am Pro ECO...and its the ECO that got me out of a 7.3/6.0 F250s..which were excellent trucks!!
I just recently sold my 2011 ECO 3.5. Excellent Truck! It had a wicked exhaust system on it, took me 5 tries to get it right. The best fuel economy I got out of it was 27mpg with 2000 lbs of junk in the trunk. It would tow anything. Would light the 20s tires up at will with limited slip both tires. Had HUGE bottom end and throttle response.
It was one of the first ECO 3.5 in the central Texas area. Dealer didn't know what an ECO was. 2011 had 97000m on it in October. I wanted the 2017 3.5 10 speed..which still isn't out. I will wait for the 2018 new facelift with the new 3.5 ECO 10 speed or the 2.7 10 speed.
So, with ~100000 on the ticker it was time to do something. The dealer gave me practically $20000 for the 2011, then I got over $11000 off MSRP. So I had to do it.
New truck 2016 SCREW Lariat 2.7 w20s, Lariat chrome package, htr/cooled seats leather, trailer towing package, paint is clone King Ranch. The pearl white with the green/bronze two tone bottom, stop/start, and BLIS. Beautiful truck. Awesome truck.
Throttle response is excellent. 2.7 Fuel economy is excellent.
The 2 options I would love to have were the 36 gallon tank and the locking diff.
I put a bed topper on it and lined it with bedrug. highly recommended. Heres were I don't like it..while in the bed it kept creaking and denting, lots of noises and give to bed floor..I can understand the chevy commercial on the denting of the bed-lame-disappointed.
With the 20s, I run them at 32 psi front and 28 rear, cause the truck is to light for the huge 20s you get beat up. the rear end sways too much and the suspension is too light, I will do the rear end lowering like on the 2011 I did. it just looks so funny with the rear end jacked up 12" of wheel space in the wheel well.
I thought I wouldn't like the BLIS, however it has come in handy. I just don't like technology driving me around. I love to drive, I love to drive cars which don't have ESP, ABS, PS, and PBs. All the technologies that remove the driver from the driving experience.
The 2016 is a good truck and will get me 30mpg without the buying penalty of diesel. I have already gotten 28mpg out of a tank. So after break in, great oil and additive mixtures, a few areo mods, I will get my 30mpg truck.
Looking forward to getting the 2018, which should be able to pull down 32-33mpg?
In the end, both trucks..heck all Ford trucks are excellent vehicles, and I feel lucky to have experienced them, and show a certain pride to ride in mine. Ford Blue at heart.

Dont get me wrong, the 15 has been a good truck other than 3 relatively minor warranty issues- but I had 26k miles on the 14 and it was just getting broken in and I actually like the seats and interior better than the new models.
I still find myself looking for the rare, if not nonexistent 2014 dealer demo with low miles to trade in for....

If my dealer called me tomorrow and said we have your old truck with 5k more miless on it. Want it back? I would say yes.
Like the 15 but wish I would have kept the 13

This thread frustrates me, as I really want to get into a new one! I have a 2014 FX4 that is a great truck! It only has 12,000 miles on it so it is not broken in either! I keep looking at the newer and higher end models. So many things that have been revised/improved. Every time I test drive a 2015+ Lariat or Platinum, I get back in my truck and see how comfortable it is. The new truck seats just bug me for some reason, no matter how they are adjusted. I wish I could take a 2017 and put my 2014 seats in it!

Dang, the HD trucks don't even have 7-lug wheels any more??? That was my favorite aesthetic part of the HD package.
(my neighbor's friend has an XL RCLB HDPP truck, a 2011 IIRC. Love those 7-lugs!)
