Calling everyone who traded an 09-14 for a 15+

Traded in my '12 FX2 SCrew with a 3.5, I somehow justified it in my head since it was about to turn 100,000 miles and I still had 31 months to pay on it. I had also replace the left bank. Besides that, I loved the truck. I was afraid (how I justified trade) that I would have more issues with the engine. I traded it in on a 2016 XLT Sport 4x4 302a with the 2.7. So far the back drivers door is letting water in during heavy rain. The a/c seems to be s good bit louder, especially on recirculate. I also had to give up leather, dual zone a/c control, and color matched mirror caps. Also to the guys reading this correct me if I'm wrong, in the '16 I have lost the ability to set the digital temp I want the cabin to be, not a big deal, but say I get out of truck at 5:00 pm with a/c running all the way on cold. The next morning if I use my auto start from inside the house to warm up truck, it is still blowing the last set temp as opposed to trying to reach say the 71 degrees I would have it set on in previous truck. I don't like that.

I bought a 2014 XTR ..Kodiak with a 5.0 and loved it.. 80,000 kl later traded it for a 2015 XLT Sport max tow 3.5 Eco. .. Mostly because my trade in value was almost what I paid for the truck originally. I traded hesitantly due to the fact that I loved the truck.
With some dealer issues on adding tow mirrors to the 2015 XLT sport and not being able to get them working six months later...I got rather upset about the deal.. and to resolve the issue the dealer traded it for a 502A 2016 Lariat 5.0 demo costing me only six months of lost payments .
This 2016 Lariat is a beautiful truck and I could not be happier with it. I like the 5.0 and the ride of this truck over the 3.5 XLT. I would rate the 2014 5.0 as the second favorite of the three. That 3.5 sure was quick once it ramped up but was the truck I least liked.

Went from an 04 scab w 4.6 to 15 scab w 5.0. I wouldn't go back to the old truck but perhaps no truck payment, otherwise I love my 15 with a nice set of BF KO/2 on it now 🤔

Went from a 2013 FX4 SCREW 4x4 with 5.0 3.55 gears to my 2015 Platinum SCREW 4x4 with 5.0 3.31 gears. I would do it again. There's so many more features, new tech, etc.. and increased horsepower in the new model. My 2015 does feel lighter than my previous 2013 and that took some getting used to - it really feels more nimble - some confuse it with instability.

What kinda financials do ya'll people have who are constantly trading in 1-2 year old trucks lol. I see people like "Traded my 10 for an 11 when it came out because it had a different color I liked better, then traded my 11 for a 13 because I liked the wheels on it better, then traded my 13 for a 15 because of aluminum and my 15 for a 16 because of sync 3" haha.
I'm sure some of you drive a ton of miles during a 2 year span but how many of you are just constantly chasing the latest and greatest? I mean it's your money so no judgements, just something I always wondered about.

Probably because I pay cash for my vehicles, I tend to hang on to them longer., and go a minimum 5 years before I get a new one. By next spring my 2012 will have about 280,000 kms on it, and by then, it may be time for a new one.

Traded my 2013 FX4 in for my 2016 Sport.
Gave me $32k for it and knocked $21k off the sticker price. I ended up owing the same with the same monthly payment as I did with the FX4.

don't get me wrong the 15 is a good truck and has some neat stuff although a lot of the options ill never use lol
but i miss my 5.5 box ( current has 6.5)
i miss my 3.73 gears ( current has 3.55 )
i miss my appearance package interior
both had the same bds 6 inch lift, same 20x10 wheels and 5 star tune
my 14 with 5.0 got better mileage ( same engine in my 15)
my 14 felt much more stable/planted as well as better throttle response
there was literally nothing wrong with my 14. was a heat of the moment kinda thing. they gave me 42 for my 14 and i owed 30. its still a great truck. but if i could go back a month- i woulda kept my 14
