This looks like a 2015 F-150 manual to me!!!!

This is my last post, if you still don't believe there is a cabin filter, it's your problem!!

What it means is there is more than one version of the 2015 manual. You can see the fine print of the one above that it's the Third printing, May 2015. My manual is the First printing, Sept 2014. (built 3-15-15) Mine doesn't mention the cabin air filter either.

Removing the pocket just to access the filter will eventually create some loose parts that will be prone to rattles...... Terrible design and the engineers could have easily modified the pocket to accommodate easier access. On a positive note..... I was able to access, remove and reinstall the cabin filter on my Lariat without removing the pocket. Took a little more time to reinstall the cover but with patience it clipped back on without any issue.

I finally got everything apart. I bought some nylon trim tools a couple of months back and they came in real handy removing the wood piece. After all of that the filter they gave me was wrong. Of course I took it back and they didn't have the right one. I couldn't find it anywhere. I guess I will be going to Ford today!

Default 2015 F150 Cabin Air Filter

Hey guys

Has anyone made or seen a video on how to change the cabin air filter on the new F150? For whatever reason, Ford couldn't have put it 1 inch lower were you can change it by pulling the glove box down. I have an XLT and I have no idea how to get in there to change it.

Any help?

Can you give a little more detail on the exact procedure you used to change the cabin air filter? Seems you may have found an easier way. Thanks Lou.

I hope I can explain it properly.....

1. Dropped the glove box (take everything out).
2. Unlatched both sides of the filter door.
3. Not sure exactly what did it but lifted the left side out of the bottom latch. Then when I titled the door the other bottom side came off.
4. Removed filter by pulling it back while slightly giving some upward pressure on the pocket (but not a lot). Just enough to manipulate the filter out. **The filter did have to squeeze/bend a little but nothing that deformed it permanently.
5. Put filter back in. **a little squeeze/bend but nothing to deform. Very slight, just enough to fit between the pocket and filter opening area.
6. Tricky part.... put door back on. Had to get the bottom part on by feel and adding some slight pressure on the pocket (again, not much). Used a flat tip screwdriver to help get those bottom notches to clip properly. Took a minute or so of trying to get it to work. Could probably do it faster next time around.
7. Latched the end clips and put glove box back to normal.

I did not have to unclip anything else beside what is needed to drop the glove box and to unclip the filter door portion.
