Its a paper filter. There's no reason for it to be this expensive. Its also not a major part of the vehicle and why would they void my warranty over the cabin air filter? Plus my trucks out of warranty anyways so.

Some (like myself) are using filters with better specs. Motorcraft doesn't market the best one, and it doesn't have anything to do with warranty.

I always get a laugh how folks will spend $50,000+ on a truck plus thousands more for modifications and freak out about the price of Motorcraft parts.

I paid half that for my truck, very little on any modifications, and buy plenty of motorcraft parts. That doesn't mean I don't like to save a few bucks whenever it makes sense.

My truck certainly wasn't $50,000 and definitely doesn't have thousands of dollars worth of modifications. I just find it hard to spend $20 on a piece of paper filter that isn't necessarily essential for the truck to run. For the regular intake air filter, sure. But the cabin air filter $20+? Give me a break.

"EcoGuard" here. Bought a few off of Amazon a couple of years ago.
I haven't noticed any bugs or tire parts coming out of the vents, so it appears to be working.
I've owned a 69 GTO for a little over 20 years and it doesn't have a cabin air filter. It's amazing I've survived..........

You bought the wrong truck if you think it will wig out over parts that were likely made at a plant as other identical parts with a different name stamped on them.

The cabin air filter basically keeps large debris out of the blower and vents. Get the cheapest one you can find.
