Yes it did change to 2018, and the price went down $3. Just ordered one. Hope it does what it claims and reduces the smell of car exhaust while driving.

I got a charcoaled one when I replaced mine last. I’ve never had one like that before, and wasn’t expecting much. Maybe make a bit of difference but not near totally eliminating outside smells. I was actually surprised and it turned out to be very effective. You still get some smell if someone is spewing an abnormal amount of smokey exhaust in slow traffic and things like that, otherwise nothing! What first made me really notice is I somewhat frequently drive past a smelly plant and a smelly farm (pig or chicken maybe) that both have a distinct smell for a couple miles. One day going past that plant it occurred to me I don’t smell it and thought about the filter, rolled down the window a bit, yup, still smells like usual, so I guess those charcoal filters actually do work pretty well.

I’m seeing a PureFlow and a Spearhead Breathe Easy cabin filter, both with activated carbon; any recommendations on either of these or something else?

Crossing fingers this one does the same. What I don't like about this new body style is that if someone pulls out in front of me on the highway and floors it, I can smell their exhaust for quite some time. Never had that in the 2014, but did in the 16 and still in the 18, so hoping the filter eliminates that stink. The one I linked to is supposed, so will see.

Does anyone have a link to one of these carbon filters? I'm very allergy sensitive and anything that helps I'm willing to try.

I got a Fram branded one this last time as my dealer never seems to carry the things. It's that clear flow or whatever and so far so good. I really don't know that it does much more than mask some odors. Just having the filter media there helps the allergies. Doesn't do much when you open the door however.

anyway - I broke the tabs on my box door (the small plastic panel inside) and left it off so far so good. I have a 2017 - anyone had luck getting that door back on. I think if I get a new door I'm going to cut the bottom tabs off and only use the 2 larger taps on the sides.

I'd prefer it didn't rattle though.

is the difference the gap in the glove box pocket and the door front?

I had not issues getting the glovebox lid down and out - detachment was easy peasy on the 2017. Takes me about 5 minutes however to work that damn cover door out from behind that box and out of the "slot" between them.

it's like the box door is say 3/8th of an inch thick - and the gap between the glove box cubby and the airbox door is 5/8th of an inch.

crazy

Nope the difference is a piece of wood trim above the glove box that has 10 clips to hold it in place. Is is a royal pain in the butt to get it off with out it braking. I broke two of the clips doing mine, but it does not matter it still fits correctly and tight.
