When I search for this the picture is of a round filter, unlike the flat ones pictured in this thread. ?

I didn't change mine yet, but I pulled it out just to see how bad it was. 5k miles and I will probably go for 10.

So this would be a perfect thing to make out of washable materials. Maybe someone will come out with one, afe, or k&n.

The truck is 6 months old, and I'm about to hit 15k. I plan on changing every 10k after seeing how dirty it was.

This brings me to my next mod. I will be cutting the back of the top shelf out to access the cabin filter more easily. I only put gloves and a skull cap in there now, so nothing should fall through. Probably will be another 10k before I do this, but it will be done. FYI, the top tray is only $31 plus shipping if you also want to do this (Tray Part#FL3Z-1504338-AH).
I'd be interested in seeing the back of the top shelf removed. Sounds like a great mod.

It's going to happen soon. I've got my replacement wood trim on order (chipped when removing first time, be careful and only push from back), and replacement cabin filters on hand. Possible will mod this weekend, will take pics and measurements when doing.

I wonder. Can the cabin filter parts be retro'ed into an 09-14 F150? They used to sell retrofit kits but are no longer available. Spring will be here soon and I would LOVE to have a cabin filter in the truck. Oak pollen kills me.
