I changed mine on my 2014 Edge when it was two years old. And it was pretty dirty. That being said, I didn't notice any difference, and I do have pretty severe pollen and/or pine allergies (ever since moving about 6 years ago). That also being said, I will probably replace mine in the f150 every spring.

So all these places that sell the filters FP79 say it's not for dual zone ac. Any thoughts on what my Platinum takes?

A bit off topic but here was my father's Tundra cabin filter with its first time change at 128,000

The old Tundras didn't have cabin filters. Newer ones do.

I had to order new filters from Amazon. NONE of my local auto parts stores even had the cabin filter in their systems. They all kept trying to tell me my truck didn't have a cabin air filter and I told them "bull****, I've seen it with my own eyes."

Thanks Amazon!

You can see no damage from the slight bend taking old one out without removing Lariat trim.
Changed mine out at 15k miles too. Almost exactly one year. And probably more importantly over 900 engine hours. I did not remove the trim piece on my Lariat, just bent the filter a little and it went in and out no problem. I did cut off the bottom brackets, snaps firmly into place using only side clips.

WRONG!!!

My dealer didn't charge labor when I had the filter changed during "The Works" oil change/tire rotation. Motorcraft FP-79 filter ran $20. My service writer said when I need it change, just ask when in for oil change/tire rotation and no labor charge.
