C.QUARTZ Ceramic coating
Getting ready to purchase my 2018 and come across this C.Quartz professional ceramic coating that last for several years and makes washing a breeze--they say! Yes its spendy like 800 bucks! Has anyone had this applied or anything similar to their truck?

No, I haven't. Have read reviews from guys that have. Seems that most seem to like it but after spending that much money on it I think most people don't want to say it's not worth it....
I'd much rather take care of the paint myself at a fraction of the cost. I'd also rather spend the money on wrapping the front end to keep the rock chips away.

It's holding up great with about 45k miles on it, I do believe it's time for a recoat though

It’s one of many coatings, you can do it yourself with the consumer grade version (I have done a couple in the past) but find CQ and CQ-UK a little tricky to apply, especially if there is any humidity. There are easier coatings out there. Optimum gloss coat is real easy to apply for your first time, Wolfgang as previously mentioned, Gyeon MOHS and most recently Kamakazee Miyabi and a whole slew launched at Sema this year.
They help the durability and look great IMHO, but can still scratch and swirl if you don’t wash property (google 2 bucket car wash) and often you need to use compatible wash products. CQuartz recommend their car wash soap, pH neutral “reset”. It’s a great soap...
You can reach out to Cory at CarPro-USA, I’m sure he will give you good advice... www.carpro-us.com

CH 9 is the same stuff, and costs about $60 for a single application. You have to prep the paint first, and that $800 may be labor for paint prep.

800$? no ... Mainly 95% of labor charges.
Ceramic coating is the ultimate protection when it comes to paint protection. You MUST do it when it's brand new in order to avoid any contamination prior to apply it.
For anyone wanting to apply it on their ''used'' trucks, I'd recommend to spend a few hours paint preparation (wash, decontamination, buff, etc.)

I have it on mine. I definitely recommend it but keep in mind that the price you got quoted is likely without paint correction. You will want to get that done beforehand even if it is a new truck. You don't want to coat hairline scratches.
I have a black truck and it literally takes 20 mins to make it look like it was just waxed. It is worth it with proper prep.
