I am coming to my XLT from a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. All the nicities of the Lariat. I've got to admit that I miss some of the features like keyless entry, 4A and push button start. The truck is rugged and that's what I wanted but the creature comforts of the Overland do make me wonder if I made the right choice.

First world problems for sure!

I love my 502A. Would I have liked a 702A better, probably, but it was out of my budget. I would not have been happy with an XLT. Set your budget based on what will make you happy. If you can get a truck in that range and love it, pull the trigger. One thing I have learned over the years, you will LONG forget the extra few bucks you spent when you are enjoying the truck 5 years down the road, but you will never forgive yourself for not spending the extra few bucks if you don't.

I'm 31 and have bought (1) used XLT 27k miles when I was 19, all I could afford. Then I got an XLT brand new, and wished I had gotten more. Now I am going with full platinum with Tech package.

Always go with more. The money over the years is miniscule compared to enjoyment.

Yeah, I am still remorseful about trading right after having just put new tires on my old 2004 XLT that I thought I would drive till I get too old and feeble to drive. But, I reckon that's why they keep building new ones. How many that trade need a new vehicle?

I wish I had climate control and auto 4wd, but I love my $8k way more.

Next truck probably raptor or this with Wipple, Lift, and Tires. Good news I consider this 3 year test drive. Resale on 2 and 3 year old F150 very strong. I bet this truck sales all day 30k plus at 3 years, paid 38.5k. That pencils all day for me!!

I'll take my XLT crew cab with panoramic roof, tailgate step and 20 inch wheels all day long over my 15 Lariat scab. (Not to mention payment now is $100/mo. less!)

I purchased my 2017 XLT 302a 2.7 4X4 1 month ago. I wanted leather but as we all know Ford made that a Lariat and up upgrade. Personally I prefer the carbon fiber trim XLT look over the Lariat wood trim. Most of the bells and whistles that are standard on a Lariat can be added to an XLT at the factory or after the fact and the couple that cant I can easily live without. Too many bells and whistles start to make truck into something other than a truck in my opinion.

Within a couple of weeks I had it upgraded with Katzkin leather, Rhino Liner, Sports package style stripes (had them custom made locally) Ford Weathertech style mats, Ford rear wheel well liners, shorter antenna etc.

I really like the truck and the changes/upgrades are a lot more my style.

I purchased my leather on eBay for $518 from a Katzkin dealer from Arkansas. It took only days to get the leather and I installed it myself. It was not too hard and turned out great

I had originally intended to buy a 5.0 or another 3.5 but after driving the 2.7 I was sold on it. I have the same buyers remorse feeling about not getting the 5.0 once in a while but then I drive the 2.7 again and the feeling goes away.

Just do a few upgrades to it and I am sure you will be happy in the long run.

I avoid buyer's remorse by ordering what I want, have been doing this since the early 90's. I find my idea of what I need / want, doesn't seem to be what's parked on the lot.
Getting what you want has a down side, waiting for the delivery, sometimes a long wait.
My 17 F150 wasn't bad @ 77/79 days, I waited 112 days for my 2014 GT500 !!

Hate to say It, but if you regret if now already, you will always have buyers remorse. Why did you go from a Lariat to an XLT?
