Default But how much rub are we talking about...

I've got my Boss Coilovers on hand and plan to install them in the next week or so. I'll probably leave them at 2.75" or bump them down around 2.5".

Now it's time to order my wheels and tires... I'm looking to get 18x9 wrapped in 295/70 tires (probably either Cooper STT Pro or Nitto Ridge Grapples, fwiw) but I need help deciding the offset. I'm looking to do either +18/20 (ballpark) or go ahead with the zero mm offset.

I want the tire to poke out a little, but my concern is the rub. I've researched tons of different threads and looked at countless photos, but nowhere does anyone mention exactly HOW MUCH rub I can expect with a 0mm offset.

I can handel a little tire burp near full lock, but I don't want to loose half my turning radius, and I do not want to remove the crash bars. I plan on spreading the crash bars, I just don't think I'm okay completely removing them.

Can those with experience provided some feedback regarding how much rub I can expect if I go with 18x9 0mm and 295/70r18 (~34.5x12) tire. Ballpark tire size and offset references are more than welcome.

Please include your truck model, wheel/tire and suspension setup, any massaging, spreading, or hammering you might have done to help the fitment, and how much rub? Also, how close are you to full lock when you rub? Pictures are always a plus, but I've honestly seen so many by now it really doesn't make a difference at this point, lol.

Thanks in advance!

Forgot to mention that I'm okay with cutting plastic and whatnot, just don't want to remove the crash bars.

Also, how many of y'all bought new wheels and wish you went with a different offset? Thanks

I have a 17 KR with the Boss setup. I am running 20x9.5 +15 Vrock recoils with 275/65/20 Toyos (34.1") No rub what so ever. Crashbars untouched. I think you will be ok on height but the width is what you need to watch. My sons 15 with Boss setup and 18x9 +1mm Fuels w/275/70/18 also no rub and no trimming. Here is a pic of both

It’s your truck... but my little .02cents says to just do it right. “A little rub” on the road means a lot of rub off road (which is what your tires are for, I’m assuming)

you dont want to regret your set up. Zero rub is what you want, again, my opinion.

I am running a 2.25" Readylift level with 295/70/18 AT2 Xtremes on Fuel Beast 18x9 +1mm offset and have a little rub (just on the rear side kickback...which I still have to dick around with so they don't rub) when reversing. This setup clears the crashbars...just barely. I think it has the perfect amount of poke without going overboard.
