Interesting. I haven't had any issues with mine having straps ran on them either. I wonder if there's a difference between 2015 and 2016 box links. I know in 2017 or 2018 they changed the design of them.

So I removed the factory Box Link hooks and install 2 D Ring anchors on the Box Link plates.

Result is more tie down points that work better than factory and aren't as bulky.

Black electrical tape is added to the hooks to stop them from flopping around and making noise.
Looks like I have two more projects-->

Did ya drill the plates for the D-Rings on the Box-Link Plates?

Grille install part 1

Step 1:Remove push pins on the rubber radiator cover
Step 2:Remove push pins on headlight bezels and pull the bezel away from the headlight
Step 3:Unplug the grille shutter plugs (top of the grille)
Step 4:Unscrew the 3 screws on the top of the grill (10mm)
Step 5:Unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom sides of the grill under the bezels (10mm)
Step 6:Pull grille out of the truck
Step 7:Remove the 4 push pin tabs from the top of the shutters
Step 8:Remove the 3 10mm shallow nuts from the bottom of the grille (they'll strip easy)
Step 9:Remove 2 10mm nuts from the bottom sides of the shutters ( they have wood style thread on the grille side, use vice grips and a box end wrench to remove. picture 5)
Step 10:Remove 8mm screw from behind the Ford emblem
Step 11:Separate grille from shutters
Step 12:Reverse steps to install your new grille

I definitely like the bumper you have made. A consideration for the finish next time you make one could be Duplicolor spray on bed liner. It's not super rough like roll on or even linex, but it does have some texture to hide imperfections, add durability and still have the nice flat black color. I most recently used this when finishing some rock sliders on my jeep.
