Sorry to hear. Just experienced a flooded cab myself. Bought a new 16 and after the first downpour the rocker was full of water. You could hear the water when you stop and go, and the carpet was soaked. It was the vent tubes from the sunroof. 1 was clogged and 1 was disconnected. 600 miles on it and I told them I want new carpet so there was no smell later. They fixed sunroof and replaced carpet. We'll see after the next rain storm.

One owner just had hers bought back buy Ford. It was an excruciating process, the last time the truck was at the dealer for more than 90 days, but had also been to the dealer prior for several repairs. Water leaks, saturated rear seats, air bag canisters were rusted, as well as seat metal. Not to forget headliner, floor carpet, then their was the electrical gremlins! I think she had the truck for just over 6 months, it was a 2016 F-150 Lariat.

Ford certainly doesn't make it easygoing when a customer has serious issues with their vehicles. It's corporate stupidity in my opinion, why not keep your customer satisfied and put the customer first, when there's issues that are not easily, or can't be resolved. Now that's not to say, some customers receive better treatment than others, I think that starts at the dealer. So working with a go dealer, that appreciates their customers helps n those situations. But customers need to remember it's a two-way street, treat the dealer as good as you want to be treated.

Customer service can make a customer for life or cause you to lose a customer and everybody they know. My friend's Dad bought a Lexus in the early 90's when they first came out. He had a minor problem with his but the nearest dealer (only 1 in the state at that time) was about 100 miles away. They sent a tow truck with a loaner (identical to his) and picked up his car. They brought it back freshly detailed and left a Lexus T-shirt and hat on the driver's seat with a note apologizing for the inconvenience and thanking him for his business. To this day he only drives Lexus vehicles.

Edit:
Not saying that Ford has to go through all of this. But they do need to work on build quality of their vehicles. It could be the workers or it could be that Ford is pushing out trucks faster than they should. Mechanically they seem to be pretty good. There are problems but considering the number of F-150s they sell they don't have a lot of problems. Most of it seems to be how it comes off the assembly line. If you got a truck that doesn't have any build quality issues you probably got a good one. I think I got pretty lucky, 6 months and 7,800 miles and no problems.

She said the technicians filled the gap and tested it and it was good to go. I asked about the carpet, and they offered to replace the carpeting. Based on the fact that this leak was here from the start, there's no way to tell how soaked the carpet has been from day one, so I'm having the carpet replaced by them. They are going to order the carpet and let me know when it gets in. Here's to hoping the leak was fixed... supposed to go camping this weekend!
I would stop by the dealer when the carpet is out to see what is rusting and have them address that also.

Don't car factories run the vehicles through a "rain" chamber to check for leaks during the manufacturing process? Seems like I've seen this on all the car shows I watch on TV.
That was the good old days, LOL. Now, supposedly, they only leak check so many. What the ratio is, who knows?

The 2015 Edges had such serious leaking problems that they bought vehicles back.

Default F-150 Leak

I just posted yesterday about my 2015. Dealer stated improper sealing on inner fender well and antenna area.... Ford cannot deny they don't know about these cab leaks... I am trying to gather as much information from folks who have experienced this issue on 2015, 2016, & 2017 F-150's. If enough I suspect a class action lawsuit can be filed on behalf of consumers... I'm waiting to see how many owners respond to my thread on this page....

anyone have a good link or pics of the moonroof drain locations? I want to check these preemptively and make sure they're all set. I haven't had issues but want to check just in case.

Update:

The dealer ordered the new carpet, so I brought my truck back. The old carpet had developed a baaaad mold smell even though the whole thing was dry to the touch after having fans blow on it for days in my garage. The technician mentioned that there were STILL PUDDLES OF WATER even though the carpet was dry to the touch. They tested the truck for leaks again with the carpet out, and said there were no more leaks. They had to let the truck dry out overnight with the carpet out with fans blowing on it before installing the new carpet.

My recommendation: if you suspect a leak at all, get it checked out. Dry carpet could still mean moldy wet nastiness underneath.

I'm happy the dealership took care of me, everything smells new again.

Sounds like they fixed it right and dried it before throwing new carpet on top.
