Default Brand new 2017, massive water leak

Hey all, I just picked up my 2017 XLT Supercrew a few days ago and before I could post a few pictures showing off my new ride after the first rainstorm my cab is completely soaked. I completely saturated 3 bath towels trying to dry it out. 200 miles on the truck I searched the forums, and it looks like a couple 2015 and 2016 trucks have had this issue, and Ford fixed the leak and replaced the carpet for those individuals. Truck is at the dealer now, crossing my fingers.

Where did it leak from?

Not sure, just dropped it off at the dealer this morning. I'll let you know what they say. If I had to take a guess, I'd say windshield seal because there seems to be a large gap but that's just a guess.

Makes you wonder why it wasn't caught on the dealer lot. Unless you ordered or it was on the showroom they usually are on the lot from a few weeks to a few months.

My thoughts too. This one was sitting outside for a few months which makes me wonder how screwed the carpeting is lol

I'm guessing it's the heater core leaking. Maybe it froze and cracked over the winter?

Must be a big leaking heater core if it flooded over to the drivers side.. But you would think the radiator would of dumped all the fluid out in the ground first as it would of frozen sooner, not to mention everything the cracked block was dumping.. Any you can't miss the smell of antifreeze.. Oh wait guess there wasn't any if it froze..

And there is the fact that it didn't leak till after it rained..

I think more likely the windshield seal or sunroof drain not connected or plugged.

I have the same problem as of today brother, and it's looking like its the sunroof [unless you don't have one, then you should roll your windows up]. All jokes aside, my buddy called his friend [ford mechanic] and he said they're aware of the TSB (that my dealer wasn't, this doesn't happen often) and said that if there isn't a lot of water saturation, and you park under trees and pollen etc, invest in an air compressor. Blow it out with some PVC tubing that can fit in there, all 4 of them (the 4 corners of the roof). Mine's at the dealer now, let's see what they come up with.
