I only removed mine when I had Line-X installed.

Just got this thing, so have had nothing but a load of air in it. I got looking at the box link things, my opinion so far, things look useless to me. Haven't read that section in the owners manual yet either, so I could be missing something.

How do you keep the air in if you don't strap it down using the box links?

1) keep the OEM Tie Downs. They are very sturdy and I like them.
2) add one or more BoxLink accessory offered by Ford. They are nice, but expensive. Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-thru-17-F...dWloOf&vxp=mtr
3) many E Track accessories can be used for tie down needs.
Personally, I use the cleats that came with my truck almost every day.

Don't mean to imply anything here, but you know that there's these cleat thingees that lock into the mounting plates, right? The reason I ask is because my cleats were in a separate package under the rear seat. If I didn't know they were there, then yeah, the mounting plates by themselves look pretty useless.
