Body Control Module Replacement Cost
#11
Hello this thread has been extremely helpful, but I have 1 last question. When I replace the BCM in my 2014 Ford Raptor will I be able to drive it to the dealer to program(they said they will program aftermarket component)? Or when I install the new BCM will it disable some feature I need to drive it?

As soon as you disconnect your old BCM and connect the new one your truck will be dead. Keys wont respond because they're not programmed

Berg,
Have they told you why the BCM needs to be replaced?
1) Does your truck have the pano sunroof?
2) Does your BCM look to have gotten wet at all? Can it be opened/checked somehow for this?

Worst hairday ever...
Forscan was able to do keys on the older models, it could on my old Ranger (2002). There was a procedure on the forscan website.

Can't provide cost on the BCM as Ford warrantied it for me & I got a N/C Invoice & Repair Order.
Originally took truck in 'cause the mirror spotlights wouldn't turn on. Laughed really hard when the Service Writer said he never heard of that option- I had to crack open the Owners Manual & show him & the Svc Mgr what it was. They wanted $110 to hook it up & scan & refused to do under Warranty. Went to 2nd dealer & same "Gee, I never seen that option before" response. But they would warranty claim the service procedure.
Ended up being my BCM -->replaced under warranty @ roughly 35.6K miles. Whatta pain in the ***.... 4-trips to the dealer 'cause Ford Tech could'nt clear codes. Then after another consult w/ Ford in Dearborn-they determined the just replaced BCM was bad & ordered another.
FYI- each time they changed the BCM all my IAC Remotes had to be programmed & the Keyless Entry codes changed as well.
All works well now.
Sure glad I changed all the FORScan modules back to factory before I took it in (even tho' this may not be necessary).
Have successfully changed stuff in the new BCM this week to include the latest & greatest mods Livnitup & others have discovered. Thanks all!

Not really since it is an electronic part. No mater what brand vehicle you have for the most part they have electrical or problems because everything is electronically controlled; mechanical problems are much less likely.
My Platinum is stuffed full with electronics which I don't trust 100%, the main reason I bought the Premium ESP. If anything goes bad it'll cost me $50.00.
