Blocking Off Intercooler Gap In Bumper?
It’s the stock insert from a 5.0 truck with the back of the closed louvers cut off. The easiest way to cut them is to flip it upside down and cut with a band saw. It sits almost perfectly vertical that way and is easy to cut. You’ll lose the clips for the 4 tabs in the center of the insert. I used double sided tape along the top and bottom to hold it in place and cut the tabs off the bumper so they wouldn’t show.

I have a 30 inch light bar where that bumper piece is. Yes, I have an Eco. I have not had any issues with intake temps. No pinging, no knocking...nothing. I typically use mid-grade fuel. I have towed with it on for a few thousand miles...no issues.
That being said, I will be upgrading to an ADD IC.

I know this is an old thread but recently resurrected. It starts off very similar to another thread discussing the front license plate and intercooler air flow. I did this mod and it's free! Of course now that Ohio doesn't require a front plate, it's a non-issue.
