Default Blisteins and lift

Hey guys I didn't realize how cheap the blistein 5100s were and I'm seeing so many great reviews. I was thinking of picking up a set. Is it worth it to get a set if I'm going to be getting a zone 6" lift soon? I can't still use them with the lift right? Thanks guys.

no, not if you're doing a big lift soon.

You can still get them and use them, you'll just have to set them to the stock height once you put the big lift on. Some people do that because they are still better than stock shocks, and relatively cheap.

IMO, if you dont mind taking the suspension apart twice... The front 5100 should work fine on the Zone lift since it uses a spacer the rear 5100 will do you no good since you'll need a longer shock, which is included in the zone kit.

Been on the Bilstein website a lot lately, they appear to have several other shocks/struts/coilovers that can be applied to aftermarket and custom lifts.

Like previously said, you run it at stock height. They are stock replacements after all and that's what most basic lift kits do, use the stock front shocks and springs.

I started another thread about this, but could you run them at an increased setting and it would be the same as using a leveling kit on a stock truck? Meaning stretching your 6 inch to a 7-8".

Not to high jack your thread but I am seriously considering the 5100's all the way around. Does anyone know or suggest running a larger block in the rear or will the stock block be adequate?

I assume the responses will say it depends on what look I am after...
