Done spending money on it for a little while. Just washed it up today and found this thread. Y'all have some really nice trucks!

Good looking truck!... any rubbing issues with your tire/wheel setup?

Thanks! No rubbing. No trimming or anything. All details in my signature.

Unhappy Touch-Up Paint

Okay folks, my google-fu isn't so great today and since we are a pretty exclusive 'black' thread group, what are you folks using for touch up paints for those small scratches you have? I had a very small scratch when the dealer transported my truck from another source and I let that one go for a bit, but recently as careful as I can be, ****** happens and I made 1" scratch that took out the paint down to the metal It's not wide and more so looks like a line drawn with a .5 mechanical pencil w/o the lead. I know lots of folks here baby theirs and would love to know your favorite make/brand of touch up paint and I will greatly appreciate your time responding to such trivial question

While it's not exactly "touch up paint" so maybe it doesn't answer your question, I've had some good luck using this "Turtle Wax Color Magic Black", made specifically for black cars / trucks:

https://www.turtlewax.com/our-produc...or-magic-black

I use Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 before hand to smooth out the scratch a little, then put on the black Color Magic.

I off-road my truck a lot so constantly get scratches all along both sides of the truck, and this stuff does a pretty good job of making it look better.

If yours is super-deep, then yeah, maybe you need actual paint, but just figured I'd offer up an alternative...

I have used a website called PaintScratch.com. I purchased a touch up kit but haven't actually used it. So they don't call it Shadow Black on the website, but I think it matches.

I had a very thin scratch also along the side of the passenger door.A friend who owns a detailing company used the fine point of a lacquer pen like the ones you get with paint touch ups from the dealer. Carefully trace the scratch and leave it for at least 3 days. Went back and he buffed it to blend in with paint. Can hardly see it on my shadow black truck.

So your buddy did the lacquer first and then paint?

He put the laquer on the scratch. No paint at all. Then buffed the lacquer. Scratch basically disappeared. Can't show you pic right now trucks dirty.
