Default Black F150 Emblems

I want to get a set of the black F150 fender and tailgate emblems but since my truck is Ruby Red I don't really like the red back trim on the black emblems. Can the red backing piece be easily removed so I can use the black backing from my origional emblems?

Truck emblem warehouse has told me black emblems for the F150 are coming. Not sure when they will be released.

^^^^^^ what he said. Doubt you'd get your old ones off in one piece to reuse the backs.

I've used PD for years on many cars. you can do it on the vehicle or off.

In the pics I was experimenting, I removed the emblems to try different colors + I like to spray a clear coat over the PD if it's off the vehicle.

Youtube has great How To Videos.

I use clear over plasti-dip some as well. Works great if you plan to never remove it.

I just re-dipped my emblems yesterday in all black. I'll get a pick when the weather clears up a bit. Here's a pic of what they looked like with black then aluminum flake.

I buy mine off eBay. Member name joe1966fairlane sells some super nice ones for a great price. Never had any chipping or peeling issues. I like the matte black he offers...looks really nice.

I tried plastic dip and it peeled off after washing so I want something permanent. I can get a complete set for a decent price.
