Bilstein 5100's Ordered ( Part #'s & links etc)
Well i pulled the trigger and ordered 5100's all around...
Not sure when they'll actually get here but i'm not in a huge rush.
I had been trying to decide on a level/lift of my truck and was getting rather tired of it. I figured this would be a good compromise between a level kit and a fox 2.0 stage 1 kit, i'm not a total cheapskate but the fox 2.0 would have cost more than double here in Canada.
Keep in mind i'm in Canada so the prices might seem stupidly high ( but it does look to me like the US prices will go up for these as well ( more $$ than previous f150 5100's )

I didn't know these were available yet? I'm surprised there hasn't been much discussion in the blistein 5100 thread since this was posted since it seems like people were waiting for them. Maybe everyone jumped ship and went with the Fox 2.0's?
Does anyone have an opinion on how the rears will compare with the Fox 2.0's?
How will the fronts compare with the Fox 2.0 coil-overs since this is just the shock being changed? Seems like just changing he shock would be a lot easier to do myself though.

With any coilover like FOX or Rancho quicklift, all you do is remove coilover and install the new coilover.
My 2 cents worth is this.
The stock coil is made for a stock height strut. The 2 coilovers mentioned above have coils made and engineered for the heights its advertising.
Really all about budget. I have had both spacers and Bilstein struts on previous trucks and I will tell you the FOX coilovers are way better.
But the bilstein strut is a much better choice than the stock strut.

Its not easier just to change the strut. You would have to remove the coilover then remove the coil and install on the new strut.

Any idea how the rear Bilstein 5100 will compare to the Fox 2.0? I realize no one can really tell me since the 5100's just came out, just wondering if anyone has an opinion based on past trucks.

I had the entire Bilstein 5100 package (2" lift fronts) on my last truck (05 F150 4X4 Screw) and I installed them when the truck had 70k km's. I got rid of the truck with 230 k km's and they were solid and performed well that entire time.
