It was well deserved. This was a massive engineering oversight. There’s no way you can miss such a glaring issue in testing. Either they swept it under the rug or they never did cold weather testing to begin with. My truck was in the shop for a month over this issue and the brand new loaner truck did the exact same thing. It was completely unacceptable.

Not exactly.....I felt like the OP had a legitimate beef. IMO when Ford sells crap buyers have the right to be upset. Some people work hard for the money to spend on these trucks. And when Ford doesn't act to resolve issues it compounds the frustrations.

I agree with OP. I still also think people can still question OP without being called a p***y basically.

Thanks W.

I agree with OP and others that this is a real issue. Not disputing that in the least. I merely feel there is so much hatred and angst among us today and if that same level of passion were channeled into brotherhood, we would all be better off. Let's develop solutions rather than dissention. I wasn't questioning the OP or minimizing the validity of his frustration. If my message was received as such, I sincerely apologize.

Well then I guess this forum has devolved to where hardware malfunctions are merely recognized as an inconvenience. From now on when my timing chain sounds like it's coming through the block I'm going to be thankful for my place in life. Sorry to offend.

i understand your pain OP, i had the original recall done on my old 2016, never had an issue with the latches freezing on it before. BUT after the recall i had it happen twice. 1st was the drivers door at home when i was leaving for work, was able to fiddle with it to get it to close, 2nd time was the LR door when i was at the grocery store. had to drive home with the seatbelt holding it shut. I do believe it is moisture forming in the cable and freezing that is causing the issue

It seems strange that all 15 - 18 F150s that experience freezing wet weather don't have this freezing door problem if all the doors and latching mechanisms are the same. My 2018 won't fit in my garage so it sat in the driveway all last winter through freezing rain, snow and just freezing cold in general. Never once did the door latches freeze and fail to work. Possibly they changed something in the 18 doors or maybe other 2018 owner's doors are freezing and I have just been lucky.
