Beware of the Car Wash!
This visit to the car wash cost me $100. I usually visit a laser wash each week, but today I went to a .25 cent wash to remove some tree sap. The damage was done before I realized what was happening.
All I can say is "Bummer".

I doubt it being I was the one who did it. It's a little disappointing that Ford put a part on the exterior that can't withstand much pressure. Maybe Ford could compensate?

Be glad your hand wasn't in the way. I know my pressure washer at home could
probably cut like that but am surprised the quarter car wash could do that.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Might save someone else from doing damage. Sometimes we are our truck's own worst enemy.

Next time I would ask what PSI the car wash uses before cleaning. I wouldn't hit any of my vehicles with more than 2000 psi and that would be at least from a foot away.
Ford won't compensate that. I would actually go back to the car wash and ask them what PSI they use. If its more than 2000 psi I would quote some online articles and tell them they are at fault if they are using more than 2000 psi.

This is why they tell you to only use low pressure to wash.If you are using the green or red tip you are asking for problems. The red tip will punch a hole in steel!

Mark it up as a live and learn experience. Pressure washers and airless paint sprayers have horrendous pressures at the tip.
Be honest now, LOL, how far was the tip away from the tree sap?
I learned how to turn concrete into exposed aggregate (terrazzo) with my first pressure washer. Not on purpose.
