Thanx for that info. What I was pointing out is that particular trim is tender and be careful with whatever method you use.

Use waterless wash. Been doing it since I bought my new truck.

Ford won't compensate that. I would actually go back to the car wash and ask them what PSI they use. If its more than 2000 psi I would quote some online articles and tell them they are at fault if they are using more than 2000 psi.
The only person at fault here is the OP. I bet that tip was an inch away from the trim (or less).

Tree sap? Use sap remover, not pressure.

Good excuse to put the Platinum trim on top of it...

Thanx everyone. Trust me there was "Duh factor" involved. In fact I should see a doctor about the drop in IQ points at that very moment.

It was an easy fix tho. One screw then pop n' play.

The window trim is very soft. I actually thought it was rubber at first.

We all have a bump or nick on the truck from something stupid that we did. My last truck had a small dent in the tailgate lip from me dropping it onto a cooler that was sitting on the tongue of a trailer. On the side, I had to have a dent popped out from a golf ball that did not follow the intended path (seems to happen often with me haha).

While these things do happen in automatic carwashes, I can tell you that Ford facilities all use automatic car washes! Including the factories. Also, the dealerships all have them.

Don't the car washes have to cover the damages?

Well in my case it was user error. I'm sure if a wash component collapsed or did damage of some sort there probably would a liability. But even in a case like this one in the pic I wouldn't think the car wash would be liable.
