Used fluid film for a while on my Tacoma. Was going to do the same for my F150 but read a review of fluid film vs amsoil metal protectant in another forum. The amsoil beat fluid film by a LONG shot. I’ll try to dig up the thread

Frame/axles/bumpers/springs/control arms are not aluminum.

I have my frame/underbody only done with Krown. They said every 18months was good.

What's the likelihood of those rusting out in the lifetime of a modern vehicle?

Those companies must have a world class sales force.

I would imagine the likely hood would depend on where the vehicle is driven. It would be much more likely to occur if driven in salty environments, such as where they salt the roads in the winter, as opposed to a dry/desert environment (on the other end of the scale) for example.

Isn't the Amsoil pyramid scheme great? I have been reading about its greatness for 35 years and have yet to see a confirmed case of it performing better than any other oil outside of their marketing material. What a racket.

You must be confused. The post you replied to referred to amsoil metal protectant, not oil.

Not confused at all, I pretty much lump all Amsoil products in the same bucket. Pretty good, overpriced, products that make ridiculous marketing claims.
