I was a fan of the Fedar tip. But after 2 months of being on the truck the rolled edge's finish is turning a yellowish color. Plus just after 1 snowstorm the salt/sand/brine left streaking on it. No amount of cleaning I did got it clean. So it will be tossed when I get a 3" turn down to install. I figured as much on the finish.
Thanks for the heads up. I already have it on the way so I guess I will give it a whirl. Don't have to worry about snow, salt in Fla.

Great thread...already cost me about $300 but with one exception has been money well spent.
The exception....the ) was a disappointment, my commute goes through hills/backroads and there is a very noticeable loss in reception over the stock antenna. But at $16 no big loss.

I think it's a bit longer than the stock tip but I still could have pushed it back another inch or two. Didn't want the exhaust pipe all the way out flush with the tip. Ideally, at some point I will most likely trim that 1-2" off the pipe so I can tuck the tip in a little tighter.

My mods so far are a 3" Thrush Rattler Muffler ($37 Jegs) and a cut 2X4 across the back of the bed so stuff doesn't slide too deep under the bed cover... (free). The muffler has a great idle and midrange sound,pretty deep and loud. 5-6k rpm sounds a little restricted..maybe i need 2 in parallel?? FOR $37, IT IS AMAZING. I'm diggn this forum, just tried out the AdvanceTrac Sport mode in the rain and it works great. I can wait for trying it in snow......go away snow......

So for under $50 and my time I drilled and separated the 3D emblems painted them removed the originals and installed the painted ones. I have the originals if I want to go back.
