Changed my mind on ProClip. Get the Smart and Easy. Nice setup, inexspensive, easy to install, did I say inexpensive.

My ProClip was expensive but it does work well. Just not worth the money ...

tooloud10 - if you're still out there, can you post any pics of your setup? I've used Panavise bases with the Proclip iPhone cradle before but interested in how it looks and the usability on this specific mount.

I've got a Panavise bracket on order and have my ProClip iPhone dock ready to roll. I'm hoping I can hide the USB cable.

I have been using a Proclip solution for several years in various vehicles. They had 2 options for a mount in the F150. When I checked into the strap version, they were saying it was not available in US. I got the mount that snaps over the left air vent.
I really like it.

Here's what I use for my iPhone 6s Plus.
It works slick. I just slide the phone in and it's connected.

ProClip mount with adjustable iPhone holder attached.

Here is a blurb from Steelie Car Mount people:

The Steelie Magnetic Phone Socket contains a strong magnet. These magnets will NOT damage your tablet or phone. However, do not place near magnetically sensitive objects such as credit cards, pacemakers, or computer hard drives. Nite Ize assumes no liability for damage to such objects.

https://www.niteize.com/product/Stee...-Mount-Kit.asp

FWIW, my flash and sim card that stores all my data and apps on my phone is right under the cover where one would potentially put this "strong magnet". IMHO, this is a no-go. Anyone have any issues with data loss using these puppies?

I've used that ProClip / Brodit dock for a number of years and love it...... not wild about blocking my air vent, so looking at either the Pandit mount above - just wonder it its too far away and trying to determine how to route the cable into the console - or...... working another angle for a base for a company I've used before - it would go up higher, between the instrument cluster and the left to the left of the center stack - worried it may be too high and in the sight-line for driving but going to explore it a bit more....

This is the proclip set up you were asking for. It's a nice mount, but the long arm is just goofy looking. I used to have all magnetic mounts, but the large iPhone just seems to slowly slide off the mount. I need more powerful magnets for inside the phone case. I prefer the phone mounted as close to my direct line of vision as possible. Makes using nav much safer for me.
