Default BedRug OR BedTred Ultra...?

I have read plenty of reviews on how great BedRugs are, but don't see many on the BedTred Ultra. The Ultra seems to replace the previous BedTred, with the Ultra now having more cushioning in it, similar to the BedRug.

Unlike the BedRug, the Ultra is a smoother surface (non carpet like), which seems to make more sense to me, but I have not owned either.

Has anyone used both and can compare?

If you are a BedRug owner and were buying again, would you consider the BedTred Ultra over the BedRug?

If you have the BedTred Ultra, any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks.

My father in law has the bed rug it's very nice (he has a tonneau cover). I don't like covers so I'm planning on getting the bed tried since it is more rubber like and durable. Was planning on getting a spray in and a rubber mat originally but this is the best of both for cheaper!

I have only ever used bedrug, but this time I went with a bed mat, so I am not much help. I can say that I like the look of the rug more and it never failed me.

I've had the bedtred ultra for a few months and it's perfect, easy to clean, fits well, and can throw stuff in the back without tearing a hole in the bed.

Awesome. That's where I'm leaning. Can you shovel mulch and stuff out of it? The velcro mounting has me a little concerned.

Sure. The entire thing zips together into a tub and it's rigid enough to not bend or bunch.

Just finished installing Bedtred ultra today replacing the drop in that came with the truck. So far I really like it much easier on my aging knees.

If you plan to carry dirty cargo, like sand, mulch, or dirt, the Bedtred will work better for you than the Bedrug, only that it is easier to clean, but the Bedrug is very durable. I had one in my 14(which is now in my basement waiting on a new owner) that I got another one for my 16. The Velcro, provided it is installed in warm weather to a clean surface that has been wiped down with alcohol, will stick and it makes it very difficult to remove the liner.

I like the Bedrug for the cushioning and the nice clean look it gives with a topper.

+1 for bedtred. I didn't want to vacuum dog hair out of the truck. Dogs love it.
