Slapped that puppy in and ....Zoom..... problems solved.....smile..... now everything will have to "re-learn" my driving habits, but a small price to pay......AZPLAT
Happy to hear that! Just an update if anyone was curious. Truck is running just fine since battery replacement.

Shame they don’t put good batteries in from the factory anymore. They used to last a long time. I STILL had the factory battery in my 2003 F150 when I sold it last month for example. 15yrs old! It was getting slow in the cold and finally had to jump it once this past winter, so it’s time was about up, but still, that was a freak of a battery to last this long!

Batteries now a days don't last long when they are run down too much.
Mine was fine until I took truck for some service. They had to of killed the battery because the start stop stopped working for 3 days.
I also used to be able to let the truck sit for 2 weeks and the start stop always worked.
Now if it sits a week it takes at least 6hrs of driving before start stop starts to work.
You don't know how it was treated at the service dept. so it was best to get a new battery, also when they test them they don't always catch a bad battery. The computer in new vehicles are very precise they have to have good power at all times.

With all the electronics on these trucks, if you're going to let them sit a week, you really need to use a high-quality battery maintainer. Note the high-quality part... something that's smart, multi-stage, and designed for AGM. Cheap units from Harbor Freight need not apply.

Key point there is the designed for AGM. Biggest issue with using a battery maintainer on a new car.

Same here.... a couple of points from my experience......
  • The "Black Top" battery OEM from the factory does NOT have any adjustment period after the B to B expires..... the "Red Top" ones have 36mo full replacement and 100 month pro-rated.... not absolutely certain they are "identical" even though the "part number" is the same. Usually a longer warranty battery has more "gap" between the bottom of the plates and the bottom of the battery.... allowing more sedimentation to collect before it hits the plates and "shorts" them.... curious
  • Take the old hulk in for exchange lest they hit you for an additional "core charge"
  • Once re-installed almost everything worked as before (settings obviously kept in non-volatile memory/storage) although it actually took a minute or two for all to "re-appear"
I was just surprised that it shorted out so instantly overnight......AZPLAT
