Bare bones Lariat or Loaded XLT?
Both can be had for approximately the same price (low 40's). Which one do you think is the better call, and why?
I really like the leather seats, and the bigger dash display, and possibly the two tone gold/caribou if I can find it, otherwise, the XLT loaded up seems like the better deal.
Thoughts?

lariat gets you push button start, that alone is worth it for me.

Doubtful these would cost the same (not saying its impossible, just doubtful) because incentives on XLT's are always higher. I believe they are about $3k higher currently, at times even more than that.

Advantages to Lariat over XLT:
Push Button Start
4A - (4x4 Auto)
Memory Seats
Memory Pedals
Cooled Seats (Milage may vary)
Power Folding Mirrors
Color Match or Chrome Mirror Caps
10" Dash Screen
Base Engine of 2.7L EB Engine w/ 10Spd vs. 3.3L V6 w/ 6Spd (Just showing Base)
Automatic Dual Zone Climate Control
There are more than a few reasons to go to a Lariat. Some guys stick with XLT as they don't like Leather. As Leather and the Dash are two things you seem to really like, I say you would most likely be happier with the Lariat. A 500A Lariat might lack a few things that 302A might lack, though I think the 501A package, which is only $1585 more levels the playing field.
Putting a Lariat 500A w/ a 2.7 vs a XLT 302A w/ 2.7 there is only ~$1,000 difference between the two in MSRP, though keep in mind the XLT does generally get some better rebates. Also, the 302A will include things that lack in the 500A i.e. running boards and remote start.
For me I beat this question to a pulp and I will only be happy with a Lariat or higher, though everyone's likes differ.

Yeah, it's pretty close for me. I can get an nicely loaded XLT for close to 40k, that 501a lariat isnt selling for under 45k, and more likely 47k. The 500a lariat can be gotten for 42ish, i think. I certainly like the bigger dash screen and leather, and i love the gold/caribou two tone.

Personal choice on what you want/need. Myself, my loaded XLT was cheaper than the base Lariat. Getting a Lariat with the options I have would have been a lot more, I think 7-8 grand extra. Not really worth it for me since the only thing I thought MIGHT come in handy is the dual-zone climate. But I don't regret not getting it at all. As for the rest of the options, I'm not into the gizmos, and I hate leather seats. So it was an easy choice for me. I was looking to buy a truck, not a luxury SUV.

I can get a 500a lariat with limited options for 44k otd, or a fairly loaded up xlt for around the same price. It's a tough call.
