Bakflip MX4 Thoughts?

Bakflip MX4 Thoughts?
Just got a 2016 F150 XLT Sport with 5 1/2 ft bed. This is my first truck, so looking at covers has been a little overwhelming with all the options. I do carry my work supplies in the bed, so need something to be as watertight as possible (I realize nothing is 100% waterproof).
Has anyone installed this on their truck and have any thoughts on it?

Plenty of threads on this and the mx4 is by far the best overall cover.
Unless you specifically need a certain type of cover just get an mx4
And unless you drown your truck in a lake you shouldn't see any water at all. Mine is pretty water tight with a line x and it was even more water tight when I had my drop in bedliner.

I've had my MX4 for a few months and have no regrets. It does leak a little along the tailgate and a few drops (or so) in another area or so. We've had a rainy day today, so if I remember when I get home, I will post or so a pic of the water.
This is a very popular cover, but as you stated, there are numerous excellent options. The other front runner for me was the one that has locks on the top whereby making it harder to break into...however, if you forget to lock the locks, it is very easy to get into. But the other thing I liked about that one (I can't recall which the name, but if you've been looking, you probably know the one) is you could easily open (only) the panel closest to the cab. I feel mine keeps honest people honest and it's easy to close the cover with the tailgate open or closed. If someone wants to break into your truck, they will. It's a question of how much damage they will do in the process...which many times exceeds the cost of what was stolen. There's a coat-hanger video on YouTube showing how to easily break into a MX4.

I'll offer this up:
I have the MX4 on my 5.5' Supercrew. It does not leak anywhere in the middle of the cover. Any water that may find its way into the bed area comes from four areas -
1. The edges of the cover. This is simply water drops that trickle down the side of the bed. Very small amount and usually happens when I go through a car wash.
2. Along the tailgate. Again, small amounts of water that trickle down the edge.
3. In through the numerous gaps in the factory bed. Go outside at night. Put a bright light in the bed of your truck. Lay down under the truck. Marvel at how many spots light shines through - some gaps are 3/16" or more...
4. All around the entire tailgate. I installed 9/16" thick weatherstripping from Home Depot around the left, bottom and right of the tailgate perimeter. It DRASTICALLY reduced the amount of water intrusion in the tailgate area. As a bonus it also reduced dust intrusion when driving on dirt roads.
Finally, I would put a Bedrug or some other cover on the bottom that doesn't absorb water. That lets the water that does seep in run out and keeps your stuff from getting wet from the bottom.
Hope this helps !!!

I've only had my MX4 for a couple months now, but love it. I got a bit more water than what I liked initially, because the cover was mounted too far forward. Once adjusted back toward the tailgate slightly, maybe 1/2", the tailgate seals did their trick. I now have mine lined up about even with the first ridge in the top of the tailgate, and it is darn near watertight. I have the factory spray-in liner on my 2016 SCrew 5.5' bed.

Anyone having water leaking into their bed with an mx4 needs to recheck their install because I've had mine for quite some time now and not even a drop of water has leaked in, I've had it with a OEM drop in bedliner as well as my current line x and absolutely no water inside.
